Vickie Decker began working at the Foundation in April of 2015 as a temporary employee but was later hired on permanently as General Clerk. She has 34 years of teaching experience and a B.A. in English Education from Olivet Nazarene University.
Vickie began her career teaching middle school language arts in the Kansas City area while her husband, Chet, attended Nazarene Theological Seminary. Four years later, they moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she continued her teaching career while Chet served as an associate pastor. While teaching and raising a family, Vickie earned her M.A. in Teaching Language Arts and Reading at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She retired from teaching in 2012. A few years later, after thirty-six years in Michigan, they moved back to the Kansas City area where Chet began working as the Dean of Administration and Student Services at NTS and Vickie took her current position at the Foundation.
Vickie and Chet have three grown children, Stefanie, Brett, and Tyler, all three Olivet Nazarene University graduates. Their “fourth” and "fifth" children are Katie, married to Brett since 2013, and Rachel, married to Tyler since 2016. An avid Detroit Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Vickie enjoys watching and attending sporting events whenever possible. Aside from that, she enjoys reading and is involved in the music program of her local church.
